"The Avenue"

What would you do if the neighborhood you lived in was neglected, run down and had a tarnished image of being ridden with crime, drugs and prostitution?

The Avenue

'The Avenue' follows a group of people who live in such an area as they try to make a difference. 118th Avenue - Edmonton, Alberta. How can the residents change the reality and image of their neighborhood and will they be able to succeed? What effect will their actions have? And will they cross the line between revitalization and gentrification?

Directed by first time documentary filmmaker, Jaimie Clements, 'The Avenue' is a story about everyday people having the power to make a difference. Featuring Christy Morin of Arts on the Ave, Chris Hayduk of CRUD - Community Response to Urban Disorder, social worker Kris Andreychuk, and commentary from 'Neighbor Power' author Jim Diers.

Digital Rebellion Cut Notes - Screening Notes App for the iPad

doddle

The days of fumbling with a lighted pen or clipboard to take notes during an important screening are over. That is, if you have Cut Notes, a recently released screening notes app for the iPad. Perfect for editors, directors, producers or anyone who needs to take notes during a screening, just tap the "Play" button and Cut Notes will start running timecode along with your cut. For each note you take, the software tracks your information with the corresponding timecode. When your screening is over, you can print out your list of notes, or better yet, email the list, which can then be imported as markers into a variety of non-linear editing systems. Get the full details on this and a variety of other nifty editing apps at the Digtal Rebellion website.
